Grades are not "STUCK". Your child may make-up work in ELA or "redo" an assignment at anytime before grades close. BUT THEY must come to me to schedule a time and let me know their plan for improving an assignment.
Your child will receive a check mark from time to time on assignments. They calculate as the following: (please click the box below)
Helping Your Child Assume Responsibility For Homework
Brain research tells us that the frontal lobe, which is responsible for planning, organizing, and predicting consequences, is not fully developed until after the age of 16! However, structure, repetition, and a predictable routine help children in this area.
You can help your child to become more independent and responsible for homework while still being involved and supportive by:
- Providing a quiet place to work.
- Helping your child in setting a regular homework time.
- Making sure he/she has basic supplies at hand. A “homework kit” with all supplies in it.
- Checking backpacks and agenda books daily (if needed)
